And it was just fine. I had just turned 20, and was living in a rented room in a local musicians house, and i was working as a waitress to make rent. My boyfriend and I had been using birth controll, but the method failed. Lucky for me he was able to pay for the medicine, because I was not. I got a $100 donation from a helpful state organization and he footed the rest of the $550 bill. I shudder to think what would have happened had I been alone, the prices are so inaccessible where I live and my parents were NOT supportive of my decision, so I could never have asked them for help. Anyway, because I did not have to become a mother, I was able to go back to school and am on my way to an awesome career :)

It hurt, and it made me throw up. I am glad I got to do it at home though. I made my room in to a sort of "nest", put on relaxing music, worked up the nerve to take the pills. My friend came over to be with me when it began. She held my hair back while I puked. After awhile, I just passed out. The pain had subsided when I woke up and I was soo hungry. I ordered an all veggie pizza and I ate the whole entire thing. Best thing I've ever tasted. I felt renewed, all my anxiety about being pregnant was gone. I was free to be me again, free to live my life.

I am SO glad it is legal here, I feel the price of the care and pills should be much more accessible though. I live in one of the most expensive states for abortion, and we only have 2 clinics (with lots of protesters outside, too) I was lucky, but I imagine many others are not.

My mother was unsupportive, my father was silently in favor though, he knew I wasn't ready to be a mother. My boyfriend was AMAZING, and so were all my friends, my best friend even took 3 city busses across town to be with me as I rocked in pain after the pills.
